There is a gentleman from the St. Louis area that goes by the name of beeveewee that has built a Ceramic Flower Pot Cooker out of those large pots that can be found at most Home Improvement type stores. This cooker is the same size as the medium Big Green Egg and cost him just $120 dollars and some time to put it together. He says it cooks very well. I hope he sees this and will post some additional information and pictures on his inexpensive ceramic cooker.
