It a ceramic cooker worth the money, that is a good question. I have a Weber Kettle that I use a lot and love grilling on. I had my BGE for a year now and enjoy cooking on it, but I really have mixed feeling if it was worth $800+. I bought it because I wanted a new toy. The key here is want not need. When you think about it most purchases are based on want and not need anyway. I have grilled steak on the Weber and Egg and really have not noticed much difference in taste, texture, or appreance. When cooked right the steak comes out just as juicy and tender on the Weber as is does on the Egg.

In my opinion there is a lot of hype surrounding ceramic cookers, especially the green one. A lot of folks have purchased one and some were disappointed by the cooking results. The biggest complaint is that the cooker does not live up to all the hype.
