I WOULD NOT BUY A GRILL DOME!!!! When it showed up at my door, the lid and base had paint chipping off of the lid and base near the hinge area. Also the grill had been chipped during the assembly process of the stainless steal bands that was touched up with a paint brush. Looks pretty crappy. I called TK the owner and told him that I wanted my money back and he said that he would give it back to me if I shipped it back to him. That would have cost me another $100. Great customer service......I don't believe so! So not wanting to have to drop another $100 in shipping, I decided to keep it, because I couldn’t get any where with Grill Dome’s so called excellent customer service. I has also ordered some accessories with the grill and some never came. I called TK and he said that he would send them to me, but six months later, still no double decker rack. Another instance of their so call superior customer service. After six months of owning the grill, which was last night I noticed that the upper fire ring is cracked. So I looked the whole grill over closer and noticed it has a huge crack in the base and paint coming off on the front. I called TK and he said that it is my fault, just like he told everyone else that has had theirs crack. Mine never got above 500 degrees F. He advertises them as being able to withstand 1200 degrees. The true fit and finish on this grill is sub par at best. You can see rough grinder marks on the stainless steal. They also advertise the GD as having thicker ceramics, which is false. The only place that the ceramic is thicker is the area where the stainless steel bands are located, but rest of the grill is the same wall thickness as a BGE. Anyone that wants pictures of what I am talking about, let me know and I will send them to you, so that no one will have to go through what I did with this grill. I have close up pictures that Grill Dome won’t show you, nor will any of the people selling them. It has been a major disappointment. I will be buying a BGE soon, as my friends BGE is 3 years old and still looks like new and he still has the original gasket in it and he uses it at least once a week.
