You must put the gasket on very slowly...DO NOT stretch at all, so in other words put it on a couple inches at a time and kind of work it in because it will shrink! Also do not expose the gasket onto the inside rim of the egg. Put it as far out to the outside edge as possible. You'll have to replace the gasket you have now. I made the same mistake twice before I called the BGE people in Atlanta. I also heard the nomax gasket works well, ESPECIALLY if you do very high heat cooking consistently.
