As Probe said, the unit is not worthless, but I do understand getting upset after spending that kind of money and having this issue after 2 cooks. I know GD had an issue of fire boxes cracking within the first few cooks for about a 3 month period. The owner went to the factory and they got the issue fixed. These ceramic grills are much more complex than metal charcoal grills. I have a G-D B-G-E and have had issues with both. For me and many other owners it is just part of the ownership to have some issues. The results of these grills are outstanding so I would get one and enjoy some great meals. Good Luck Ethan
