Have cooked on KJ for the last 4 months (about 25 cooks) with just one problem. My spings on the hinge have popped and with one call we recieved replacements within a couple of days. It surprises me that KJ has been upresponsive to your issue. In my oppinion this unit is everybit as good as the BGE and in some respects better. Worth every penny of what I paid for it. I have cooked on several BGE and this unit gets just as hot. 800+ deg on one cook and easily maintains 225 on my slow cooks.
